Silvija's cousin Anda has an incredibly busy schedule working at the University during the week. Still, it was only proper to have another family get-together. Saturday was reserved for all of us to get together at Anda's: Anda, Kristine, Zin, Henry, my mom, and myself. Except for this one shot, the camera shutter remained silent, lens capped. This afternoon and evening was a time for enjoying family, precious moments to be savored, well, along with a "gardums" or two.

December 15th

Still weighed down from yesterday (!), I was slow to start and only managed to hit the road at three in the afternoon. I decided to go exploring outside my usual center-of-town comfort zone.

As I headed toward the Grizinkalns part of town, my first stop on the other side of Caka iela was Ziedondarzs park. It's a quiet and serene place in winter, punctuated only occasionally by a sculpture or stroller. The hustle and bustle of summer seemed endless months away.

I exited the park on to Spargelu iela, then zig-zagged along to my next major destination...
